The Upper Room began as an idea in the hearts and minds of a few people who wanted to see people experience the fullness of life that Jesus has for us all. Led by Pastor Phillip and under the guidance of Lakewood Village Community Church (LVCC) that small team ventured forth in creating something new. With the help of generous donations, dedicated volunteers, and much prayer we were able to transform a room on the second floor of LVCC’s Fellowship Hall into an intimate and inviting space. We gather in this space with a clear and simple purpose: “Share Life | Share Jesus”.
That purpose is pulled directly from Acts 2:42-47. There we find the first church creating a community centered on Jesus. This new community offered hope to those who were bruised, broken, and cast aside by life. They connected with Jesus, served each other and the community, demonstrated generosity, built authentic friendships, and discovered they were participating in something much bigger than themselves. Our vision is to embody that same spirit for each other and the city of Long Beach.
